Proposed Ordinance to Amend Part of the Enforcement Rules of the Electrical Appliances and Household Products Safety Management Act
Portable ethanol stoves are currently not included in the safety management items regulated under the existing Electrical Appliances and Household Products Safety Management Act, meaning they are distributed without specific safety standards applied. Given the product's susceptibility to fire accidents and the ongoing safety incidents, there are plans to establish safety standards for these products to ensure consumer safety.
The "portable ethanol stove" item will be added to the list of household products that must comply with safety standards.
Comments can be submitted to the relevant authorities until August 14, 2024.
