As the number of electric vehicle users increases, the rate of disposal of electric vehicle used batteries is also rising. In response, the Ministry of Environment announced on August 4, 2023, its plans to improve relevant regulations to enhance the recycling of electric vehicle used batteries.
1. Exemption from Mandatory Installation of Waste Recycling Facilities When Reusing Electric Vehicle Used Batteries
2. Revision of Storage Quantity and Storage Period for Waste Materials from Recycling Electric Vehicle Used Batteries and Lithium Secondary Batteries
▶ Extend the waste storage capacity for recycling businesses from 30 days to 180 days, and expand the processing deadline from 30 days to within 180 days.
With the improvement of regulations on recycling electric vehicle used batteries, the recycling industry will be able to proactively secure a significant amount of raw materials.
