LG Energy Solution has commenced the production of affordable electric vehicle batteries.

The electric vehicle battery manufacturer, LG Energy Solution, plans to produce affordable electric vehicle batteries, including lithium iron phosphate (LFP) models.
LG Energy aims to produce cost-effective LFP batteries in 2026, as well as nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) batteries with reduced nickel and cobalt compared to traditional models in 2025.
LG Energy, an electric vehicle battery manufacturer, anticipates a 10% cost reduction by using high-voltage mid-nickel NCM batteries.
Typically, batteries with a nickel content of 80% or more are classified as high-nickel, while those with 40-60% nickel content are referred to as mid-nickel. Mid-nickel batteries, which contain relatively less nickel, offer cost competitiveness in terms of raw material prices.
